CAPAS 2026 to unite Southwest China’s automotive industry for collaborative innovation

8 Apr 2026

The 12th Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS Chengdu) will be held at the Chengdu Century City New International Exhibition and Convention Center from 21 to 23 May 2026. Aligned with the upgrades, consumer preferences and rising demand of Southwest China’s automotive industry, the 53,000 sqm show will attract over 790 domestic and international exhibitors. This edition will showcase new energy, connected and commercial vehicles and customising through product displays and fringe events, reinforcing its role as a platform for collaboration, integration and development across Sichuan and Chongqing.

Mr James Yu, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd, said: “CAPAS prioritises the collaboration and sustainable development of Southwest China’s automotive market. With the rapid rise of new energy vehicles (NEVs) and intelligent connected technologies, the exhibition is more than a product showcase for related solutions; it’s a platform for cooperation and transformation that helps companies identify trends and opportunities. This edition will focus on supply‑chain coordination, commercial vehicle electrification, aftermarket upgrades, and the region’s motorsports and culture. Through curated zones and interactive events, we will foster innovation and international partnerships in Southwest China.”

Driving transformation through specialised product showcases
The Sichuan-Chongqing region is now China’s third-largest automotive cluster and an NEV hub. Sichuan’s production rose 142.6% year‑on‑year in 2025[1], and new energy heavy-duty trucks accounting for 7.3% of the national total. Additionally, Chongqing’s car ownership exceeds 6 million, supporting an aftermarket valued at RMB 85 billion (approximately USD 12 billion)[2], while Sichuan’s vehicle parc is projected to surpass 18.5 million by 2027 with an aftermarket potential of RMB 700 billion (approximately USD 100 billion)[3].

As a national automotive hotspot, this fast-growing region needs further technological advancements and closer integration of manufacturing, distribution and services. With its influence in the market, CAPAS is a prime platform to help drive that progress.

For instance, the Commercial Vehicle Zone will spotlight the electrification of components, aftermarket parts, and repair technologies. Here, Chenglong will exhibit heavy-duty trucks with lightweight designs and intelligent thermal management; Foton will present light‑duty trucks for cold chain, express delivery, last-mile delivery and smart logistics; and first‑time exhibitor Fuda will display drivetrain components for electric commercial vehicles.

Elsewhere, the Parts & Components Sourcing Zone will include a Chassis Display Area, addressing the maturing car market and added maintenance needs, showcasing Ironstamp’s NEV air‑suspension compressors and LPR’s high‑performance brakes. Exhibitors such as Jrone, Phoenix, Shenghuabo, Songtian Motor, TEMB, Yihong, Zoren, and more will also be included alongside practical training. Also featured here, the Remanufacturing Display Area will showcase manufacturers such as Chongqing Yuxiang, Xinjiang Tongfeng, Zhongqi and their green circular economy solutions in support of China’s 2030 carbon-peaking goal.

Showcasing more innovations, the New Energy and Intelligent Connectivity Zone will include charging solutions and thermal components. Nengtong will present 5G fast-charging equipment and AC/DC charging piles, while Oulang will introduce EV coolants. Nearby, the Chengdu-Chongqing Dual-City Economic Rim Zone will highlight regional clusters for collaboration, including Nanchong’s commercial vehicle powertrains, Yibin’s battery industry, Guang’an’s green energy equipment and Ziyang’s hydrogen supply chain. The Repair Zone will also reflect intelligent, green development, with exhibitors like STELLAR displaying eco‑friendly car washing and EV repair tools to help dealers meet low-carbon requirements.

Elsewhere, the Accessories & Customising Zone will spotlight lubricants, care products and performance items for end-users. Highlights include OFFROAD SKYLINE’s aluminium‑magnesium skid plates; Jiale’s pickup cover for increased cargo capacity; and Xinhui’s TiN VR series films. The Car Customising Festival will provide an experience that blends Southwest China culture with simulators, vintage car displays and interactive tyre‑change demonstrations alongside talks on drifting, off‑roading, modifications, and more.

Concurrent events to promote industry‑research collaboration
CAPAS will also host 25 events on the supply chain, OEM-supplier collaboration, aftermarket, green circular economy, talent development, commercial vehicles and automotive culture. The China Automotive Supply Chain and New Energy Vehicle International Cooperation Conference will gather government officials, trade bodies and industry leaders to tackle supply chain hurdles, electrification and intelligent vehicles. Moreover, the Chengdu–Chongqing Automotive Industry Cooperation Conference will foster regional coordination between supply chain, fleets, R&D, financing, and charging and battery‑swap infrastructure.

Building on this, the debut Southwest New Energy Commercial Vehicle Services Conference will examine the new energy commercial vehicle sector, with manufacturers, logistics companies, charging and battery‑swap operators, and more discussing new technologies for operational efficiency, aftermarket services, and logistics.

CAPAS will drive international collaboration with a VIP Buyers Business Matching Programme linking overseas buyers from emerging markets like Southeast Asia with exhibitors to boost exports and investment. Meanwhile, the CAPAS Discovery Tour will highlight Chengdu’s culture and industry, and the New Energy Vehicle Industry-Education Integration Zone will bring industry and universities together for education, talent development and NEV aftermarket training.

CAPAS is jointly organised by CCPIT-Auto, Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd and CCPIT-Sichuan. For more information, please visit www.capas-chengdu.com or email auto@hongkong.messefrankfurt.com.
