As 10th edition wraps, CAPAS 2024 hailed for advancing automotive innovation

The Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS) concluded on 18 May 2024 at the Chengdu Century City New International Exhibition and Convention Center. Serving as a platform for business exchange, trade investment, and collaboration between industry and education in Southwest China, the event’s 10th edition set new records in terms of exhibitor numbers and visitor count, representing an increase of 11 and 22 percent from the last edition respectively. Key trends highlighted at the exhibition included green development, new energy and connected mobility, talent nurturing and international cooperation.

CAPAS 2024 opens this week to facilitate the automotive industry in Southwest China

The Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS) will celebrate its 10th edition from 16 to 18 May 2024. With an exhibition space spanning 50,000 sqm to house 690 domestic and international exhibitors, the fair features the latest achievements and trends in new energy vehicles, connected mobility, and aftersales services. Emphasising a growing contribution to the integration of industry and education, a series of fringe events are set to drive talent development in support of the sustainable growth of the region’s automotive industry. So far, visitors that have already pre-registered include players from 32 overseas countries and regions, as well as those from 27 domestic provinces and municipalities and 46 buyer groups.

CAPAS celebrates 10 editions of advancing the automotive industry in Southwest China

The 10th edition of the Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS) will take place from 16 to 18 May 2024 at the Chengdu Century City New International Exhibition & Convention Center. Rooted in the Southwest China automotive industry, CAPAS has witnessed the rapid growth of the automotive industry in the region over the past decade. With over 650 exhibitors across 50,000 sqm of expected exhibition space, this edition will further integrate the regional resources from the government, industry players and media, to provide a platform for business exchange, trade investment and incorporation of industry and education.

CAPAS Arbour Day 2023 cues putting green ideas into practice

The organisers of Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS) hosted a site visit at the show’s afforestation project to celebrate Arbour Day. On 5 May 2023, a Sichuan and Chongqing media delegation, group of exhibitors and representatives from related authorities travelled to Meishan, Sichuan to see that the trees planted in 2017 are flourishing. The Arbour Day event, combined with pre-show media briefing, acknowledged the green ideas in the automotive industry contributing to the environmental sustainability of Southwest China.

The 8th Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS) will open tomorrow (18 August 2022). The three-day event hosts 407 exhibitors across 35,000 sqm of the Chengdu Century City New International Exhibition & Convention Center. Prominent exhibitors include Faret, Huiyuan, Geely, Kain Auto, Rzoil, Sichuan New Energy Vehicle Innovation Center, WM Motor, Yingling, JAC Group, Yousheng and Zoomlion. Messe Frankfurt reschedules CAPAS 2022 and Auto Maintenance & Repair Expo 2022

In view of the evolving pandemic situation in China, the Government has escalated a number of COVID-19 prevention and control measures. To align with these efforts, Messe Frankfurt is rescheduling two of its Mobility & Logistics fairs in the country. CAPAS Chengdu will move to 18 – 20 August 2022, instead of the original timeslot (19 – 21 May 2022). In addition, the Auto Maintenance and Repair Expo (AMR) will be held in Tianjin from 23 – 26 March 2023 (in place of 27 – 30 May 2022).

CAPAS 2022 plays up Chengdu-Chongqing opportunities as Southwest auto industry hits the speed highway

Sitting at the heart of Southwest China, Chengdu and Chongqing’s integrated resources offer an important regional transportation hub. The strategic alliance of the cities aims to promote economic growth, as well as facilitate trade and development in the surrounding areas. In 2021, an investment of RMB 1.57 trillion (approximately USD 250 billion) also aided 67 projects geared towards establishing infrastructure across the two cities[1]. These activities are accelerating the advancement of the regional automotive industry in a mission to become a world-class auto industry cluster[2].

The seventh edition of the Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS) closed its doors on 22 May 2021 at the Chengdu Century City New International Exhibition and Convention Center. CAPAS defers to 2021

Following the Chinese Government’s initiatives to prevent and control the COVID-19 outbreak, the organisers of the Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS) have announced the defer of the show’s 2020 edition. The fair, originally scheduled from 21 to 23 May 2020, will now be held from 20 to 22 May 2021.

CAPAS Arbour Day was jointly organised by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the Automotive Sub-Council (CCPIT-Auto), Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Sichuan Council (CCPIT-Sichuan) and was supported by the Sichuan province. CAPAS 2018 closes, supporting the transformation of Southwest China’s automotive industry

The fifth edition of The Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS) successfully concluded on 26 May 2018, at the Chengdu Century City New International Convention and Exhibition Center in China. As a leading platform for the automotive industry in Southwest China, this year CAPAS gathered 583 exhibitors (12% increase) from China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan and the US. Each of these industry leaders gathered together with 18,016 visitors (4% increase) across 45,000sqm of exhibition space.

CAPAS 2017 drew to a successful close with climbing number of visitors

For the fourth time running, the Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS) received an impressive amount of praise and approval following its conclusion. Held from 25 – 27 May 2017, the fair housed a total of 522 international exhibitors and welcomed 17,378 trade visitors (8% increase) in an exhibition space of 45,000 sqm (29% increase) at the Chengdu Century City New International Exhibition & Convention Center in China.
