Global brands are also increasing their presence in the market, underscoring the region’s strategic importance in China’s automotive landscape. CAPAS successfully engaged with global industry peers to explore this potential, receiving positive feedback from various stakeholders who praised the show for facilitating business trading, technological exchange and supply chain cooperation. Looking ahead, CAPAS will continue enhancing services to support the regional industry’s advancement.”

Driving aftermarket services and consumer market in Southwest China
As the automotive industry moves towards electrification, intelligence and sustainability, CAPAS 2025 convened leading brands from home and abroad, showcasing innovative advancements across the entire supply chain. These included core components, three-electric systems, charging and swapping infrastructure, aftermarket services, and more.

Shanghai GKN HUAYU Driveline Systems Co Ltd debuted with the latest drivetrain systems. Ms Emma Lu, Marketing Supervisor of Marketing & Sales Aftermarket Department, said: “We aim to boost our brand awareness and connect with local distributors in the Southwest region. The first day exceeded our expectations, with regional distributors expressing strong interest in collaboration. In-depth discussions offered insights into the region’s demand for premium auto parts. CAPAS is proved to be a platform for expansion of distribution channels.”

Driven by the growing vehicle ownership and Southwest China’s distinct landscape, the regional automotive aftermarket highlights a demand for quality, personalised and eco-friendly solutions, creating substantial opportunities for accessories businesses. Mr Hongbin Liang, Operations Director of MOTJ Car Film of Guangdong Chelimei Technology Co Ltd, noted: “With the rapid growth of new energy vehicles and demand for personalisation, we launch products that combine paint protection and colour customisation to align with market trends. The show enables direct connections with end-users in Southwest China, providing direct feedback that can guide our product design.”

In addition, with more new energy vehicles on the road, workshops are having to expand their expertise to include more services that cater to the quickly growing market. Providers seeking business transition found exhibitors offering one-stop solutions catering to these needs.  Mr Wenbo Liu, Founder of Dongguan Fubang Automobile Service Co Ltd, exclaimed: “This is our first time at CAPAS as we aim to expand our presence in Southwest China. We welcomed over a hundred customers to our booth and secured six franchise partnerships, exceeding our expectations. As new energy vehicles rise, we look forward to connecting with industry peers at CAPAS to foster the industry transformation.”

As travel preferences evolve, recreational vehicle camping is emerging as a mainstream lifestyle trend in Southwest region. Mr Zhichao Li, Sales Manager of Nanchong Yonghe RV Co Ltd, shared: “Our products received strong interest, with many distributors expressing a desire to visit our factory for purchasing recreational vehicles, indicating the regional market’s potential. We aim to bring this lifestyle to more families in Southwest China to enjoy independent, convenient and quality outdoor experiences.”

Connecting with buyers from around the globe
In addition, visitors from 26 countries and regions, as well as buyer groups from the likes of Indonesia, Poland, Thailand, Türkiye, and the UAE, appreciated the show’s emphasis on market trends and services to connect with exhibitors.

A buyer from Türkiye, Mr Muhammad Sohail, Manager of Auto Part Zone, expressed his satisfaction with the business matchmaking: “After our successful first visit last year, we returned to CAPAS to explore suppliers for alternators and shock absorbers. The matchmaking event proved productive and beneficial for our business. Most of the exhibitors we met aligned with our needs.”

Mr Mariusz Prusaczyk, CV Product Department Deputy Director of Inter Cars SA from Poland, shared his positive experience with the CAPAS Discovery Tour: “We focus on passenger car and truck parts, including filters, suspension, and engines, while also exploring innovative solutions like tyre pressure sensors. This tour featured well-organised supplier meetings, factory visits, and a cultural excursion at a panda base. The curated itinerary struck an excellent balance between business networking and cultural exploring, enhancing our understanding of China, especially in the Southwest region.”

In terms of domestic buyers, Ms Gina Liu, General Manager of Chengdu Titans Homzen Technology Co Ltd, said: “We look forward to CAPAS every year. This time, we focused our search on new components and customisation as our company specialises in new energy commercial vehicle modifications. We engaged with exhibitors matching our needs, including local assisted driving solution providers and some charging station suppliers. We also gained valuable insights from the passenger car modification displays, and hope to expand our business to recreational vehicles and more commercial vehicles.”

Diverse concurrent events offered insights into the regional market
CAPAS organised 23 fringe events that focused on supply chains, talent, and automotive culture. These events sparked active interactions with participants recognising their forward-thinking perspectives, fostering in-depth discussions and growth of the regional industry.

For example, to address the talent gap, the returning New Energy Vehicle Industry-Education Integration Zone offered seminars, hands-on training, and professional development guidance. Mr Zhele Li, Secretary-General of Auto Talents Committee of China Talents Society, delivered a speech at the International Automotive Industry Education and Talent Development Conference. He acknowledged: “CAPAS is an excellent platform for technological exchange in talent building, creating a valuable bridge between vocational institutions, enterprises, and industry associations. Amidst the industry’s transition to intelligent and electric mobility, the focus on industry-education integration aligns with the market’s needs as new talent drives the growth of the sector.”

After attending the Automotive Dealer Service Innovation Conference and Precise Supply-Demand Matchmaking Event, Ms Wenji Liu, Vice President of China Automobile Dealers Association, praised CAPAS for capturing evolving challenges: “The event provided practical content and actionable guidance for businesses, focusing on real needs of 4S dealerships, pain points, and strategies for service enhancement. The latter matchmaking pinpointed the needs of suppliers and dealerships to ensure productive connections.”

The Car Customising Festival generated great excitement with immersive experiences for automotive culture. It featured product displays, gaming, e-sports, and racing simulations, attracting a wide range of car enthusiasts. Attendees admired the range of custom vehicles including off-road cars and anime-inspired designs. Ms Linli Fu, a fan of motorsports, expressed her enthusiasm: “The event aligned with Southwest China’s auto scene. It was fun to drive in racing simulators and see the customised cars on display. It meant I could connect and exchange my thoughts with like-minded car lovers and enjoy the unique atmosphere of this community.”

Moreover, the three-day show garnered the attention of mass and trade media, with three livestreams featuring highlights of exhibitors and technologies, dynamism and advancements in the Sichuan-Chongqing automotive industry clusters, as well as automotive culture. These activities further amplified the show’s visibility, providing strong support for exhibitors to enhance their brand awareness and market expansion. It also reflects CAPAS’s value as a key communication platform for Southwest China’s automotive industry.

The next edition of CAPAS will take place from 21 to 23 May 2026. The show is jointly organised by CCPIT-Auto, Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd and CCPIT-Sichuan. For more information, please visit www.capas-chengdu.com or email auto@hongkong.messefrankfurt.com.
