Southwest China continues to answer national calls for environmental protection with policy examples on air pollution, enacted in 2014, still influencing key industries and vehicle emissions[1].
In more recent efforts, companies supervised under the Sichuan State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission must now follow measures for energy saving and carbon reduction[2]. The Sichuan Province has also implemented its first local standard for businesses managing greenhouse gas emissions[3]. This include guidance on monitoring and reporting output, as well as participating in carbon trading.
CAPAS continues to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to initiatives creating a greener tomorrow in the region. Back in 2017, the fair launched its own CAPAS Arbour Day event tree planting as a symbol of this pledge, returning in 2019 for a field trip. This year, revisiting to find the site thriving highlighted the balance of economic development and ecological protection.
Mr James Yu, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd, said: “Messe Frankfurt continues to drive sustainability through its social responsibilities, environmental practices, and trade fair highlights. For example, we strive to utilise recycled or recyclable materials for booth constructions at the show floor. In addition, with 35 events in the Mobility & Logistics sector, we are part of pushing transformation in the automotive industry, having new energy vehicles and low carbon emissions at the top of our agenda. Through these efforts, we can promote and implement green concepts that contribute to a sustainable future for generations to come.”
Explore new energy development in Southwest China
With the rapid development of the new energy vehicle industry in Southwest China, CAPAS offers exhibitors a high-quality platform for their green products and technologies across the entire industrial chain. For example:
- Parts & Components zone – Anhui Zhongding will showcase a battery cooling system and suspension system.
- Accessories & Customising zone – Goodyear will present anti-freeze and lubricants for transmissions in new energy vehicles, electric vehicle charging guns and car wrapping. In addition, car washing equipment to improve efficiency and eco-friendly energy saving will also be on display.
- Repair / Supply Chain & Chain Stores zone – the area will introduce the urban planning considerations related to charging pile.
Meanwhile, the Chengdu-Chongqing Dual-city Economic Rim zone will once again host an expected 20 regional pavilions with many exhibitors putting their new energy vehicles products on show. The Yibin pavilion is set to draw attention to the advanced products and technologies for manufacturing new energy vehicles, batteries and engines.
On this note, special areas and fringe events will expand the coverage of new energy vehicle development. The New Energy Vehicle Maintenance area will offer a training course about diagnostics and maintenance, featuring the repair equipment, tools, new energy vehicle parts, and charging stations highlighted across the exhibition floor.
To support the area, the China New Energy Vehicle International Cooperation Conference 2023 will explore topics including technological innovation, global expansion, second-hand new energy vehicles, and customising. Furthermore, the Southwest Automotive Aftermarket Summit 2023 will delve into aftermarket services for new energy vehicles.
The Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS) will take place from 18 to 20 May 2023 at the Chengdu Century City New International Exhibition & Convention Center. The fair is jointly organised by CCPIT-Auto, Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd and CCPIT-Sichuan. For more information, please visit www.capas-chengdu.com or email auto@hongkong.messefrankfurt.com.
